Evolutionism Combined with Spiritualism: A. R. Wallace's Approach PP:16-26 A. R. Wallace was the co-founder of the theory of natural selection and a solid supporter of Darwin, but he combined evolutionism with spiritualism, and tried to understand human evolution and evolutionary ethics with a spiritualistic teleology. This teleological version is a typical example of non-Darwinian evolutionism, which was rooted in the ideology of Victorian progressionism, and was used to avoid the materialism implicated in Darwinism. The International Scientific Series and the Communication of Darwinism PP:27-38 In this paper I examine whether or not the International Scientific Series (ISS) disseminated Darwinian views of the relationship between science and religion throughout its existence as a unique experiment in publishing. Initially, the key players were Thomas Henry Huxley, John Tyndall, Herbert Spencer, and Edward Youmans, all evolutionary naturalists, and they shared a complex perspective on the relationship between science and religion. China's Rise and Regional Strategy: Power, Interdependence and Identity PP:76-92 This article attempts to examine and critique the theoretical debates on the rise of China and its regional strategy in East Asia. Three major paradigms in international relations theories – realism, liberalism and constructivism – are focused on. This article argues that each theoretical theory alone is inadequate for a comprehensive understanding of China’s regional strategy in East Asia since the late 1990s. While sometimes they are considered as competing approaches, these different theoretical perspectives supplement each other. The Chinese Political Blogosphere and NPC&CPPCC PP:110-120 In this paper, we study the relationship between Chinese political blogosphere and "Lianghui" (NPC&CPPCC) through examining different types of political blogs on current events and public policies during the course of NPC&CPPCC over the years, maily concerned on politically representatives blogs, grassroots blogs and groups blogs. In particular, we analyze some popular political blogs of "A-list" postings in order to study what and how they express, discuss and communicate their veiws on "Lianghui" issue.
